Dulux Colour of the Year 2017

This week, Dulux announced their hotly anticipated ‘Dulux colour of the Year 2017’. Behold, Denim Drift! 

Dulux say, “Denim Drift is the must-have colour of 2017. It is truly adaptable, fitting into all life and interior styles, making it the perfect choice for reflecting our new perspective for 2017”.

To compliment Denim Drift, Dulux have developed a supporting colour palette featuring a spectrum of blue shades. Choose from luxurious and deep shades or the lighter, cooler tones and create a look that is uniquely yours. 

Dulux say “2017's palette is all about balance. This year, we see an interesting contrast between bolder, more striking colours and a selection of muted, lighter shades. The Colour of the Year is Denim Drift, a beautiful, timeless and versatile grey-blue that takes on a different characteristic depending on how it's used, perfectly capturing the mood of the moment and embodying our lives for 2017. The accompanying palette of tonal blue shades creates a truly accessible range that can be easily translated into architecture and interior decorating”. 

Denim plays such a vital role in our wardrobes, it’s only natural that we would want to transfer that affection to our walls!

Rebecca Williamson, Dulux colour and design trend expert, says: "With denim blue set to dominate the interior and fashion trend agenda for 2017, Denim Drift is the perfect fit to reflect the times we live in, that real desire for simplicity. Designers love it and so do we."  

Rebecca is right, we do love it! In fact we were raving about the colour blue in our recent blog (read it here)! Not only does Denim Drift work beautifully within its own Dulux designed colour palette, we think it will also look fabulous with golds, greens and pinks!
